01The problem

Teachers are often the first adults students approach about their future.

Equip teachers with practical understanding of career guidance, student support and referral pathways. Professional development can strengthen the school's capacity to identify needs and guide students towards appropriate resources.

A student rarely books an appointment to talk about the future. They ask a teacher, in a corridor, in the two minutes after a class. What that teacher says next matters a great deal, and most teachers have had no training for it. This programme covers the practical part: how to hold that conversation, what a psychometric report does and does not tell you, what to say about careers you know nothing about, and — the hardest one — when to stop advising and refer.

The evidence behind all of this — who you would speak to, and what we will not claim — sits on the Career Guidance for Schools page, where it belongs to the whole audience rather than to one service.
