Vocational Preference Inventory™ (VPI™)
The Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI), by John L. Holland, is a brief personality inventory of career interests, used by clinicians and career counsellors with secondary and college students and adults aged 14 to 65. Respondents mark each of 160 occupations as liked or disliked, which yields scores on Holland's six RIASEC types together with five further scales, including self-control and status, that the Self-Directed Search does not cover. It takes 15 to 30 minutes, all 11 scales can be hand-scored in about a minute, and the RIASEC scores can be used with Holland's occupational finders to explore career options. The kit includes the manual and 50 combined test booklet, answer sheet and profile sets.
