Some instruments are open to any buyer. Some are not.

The three access tiers, what each requires, and how a qualification is verified.

The restriction is not ours. It comes with the instrument, from the people who built it and validated it, and it exists because a test administered by somebody who cannot interpret it produces a number that looks like a finding and is not one. We enforce it because we would rather lose an order than be the reason a wrong conclusion was drawn about a person.

WhatBooks, general reading, awareness material, and instruments whose author has placed no restriction on them.

CheckedNone.

Trained user

WhoA buyer who has completed recognised training in the use of the instrument, or holds a degree in psychology, education or a related discipline with assessment coursework.

WhatMost aptitude, interest and skills instruments; equipment used under supervision.

CheckedQualification recorded against the account and verified once, before the first restricted order is released.

C

Registered professional

WhoA qualified psychologist, or a professional registered with the relevant body, practising within their scope.

WhatPersonality inventories, clinical and projective instruments, and anything used for psychological screening.

CheckedRegistration number and evidence recorded and verified before release. Re-verified when it expires.

When a check holds up an order

Payment may be taken and despatch still wait. That is deliberate: the alternative is refusing the order at the moment of payment, which tells a legitimate buyer nothing about what to send us. Where a qualification is recorded and verified once, later orders at the same tier go straight through.

If the check fails, the order is cancelled and refunded in full. Nothing is despatched against an unverified qualification, however long it has been waiting.
