Visual Search and Attention Test
The Visual Search and Attention Test (VSAT), by Max R. Trenerry, Bruce Crosson, James DeBoe and William R. Leber, quickly measures the attention processes that are often disturbed by brain damage or disease, in adults aged 18 to 60. In four cancellation tasks the person crosses out letters and symbols that match a target, and besides an overall attention score it gives separate scores for the left and right sides, which helps detect visual field loss or neglect of one side of space. It takes about 10 minutes, a stopwatch is needed, and the kit contains the manual and 50 test booklets.
