Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children™ (TSCC™)
The Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children (TSCC), by John Briere, asks children aged 8 to 16 who have lived through traumatic events such as a natural disaster, a major loss, abuse or witnessing violence, to report their own post-traumatic stress and related symptoms. Its 54 items feed clinical scales covering post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, anger, dissociation and sexual concerns, along with two validity scales and eight critical items; an alternate 44-item version leaves out all sexual content. Items are answered on a 4-point scale in a carbonless booklet that makes hand-scoring easy, and it takes 15 to 20 minutes. The kit includes the manual, 25 test booklets and 25 profile forms each for boys and girls.
