TOSWRF-2: Test of Silent Word Reading Fluency–Second Edition
The TOSWRF-2 measures how quickly and accurately students aged 6 to 24 recognise printed words. Students see rows of words run together without spaces, such as dimhowfigblue, and have 3 minutes to mark the boundaries between as many words as they can. Because it is so short and can be given to a whole group, it suits large-scale screening, gauging the degree of word-level reading difficulty, monitoring progress up to four times a year and research. One form takes 3 minutes and any two take 6, and the kit includes the manual and 25 record forms for each of Forms A, B, C and D.
