Test of Preschool Vocabulary (TOPV)
The Test of Preschool Vocabulary (TOPV) by Steven C. Mathews and Lynda Miller measures how well children aged 2 to 5 understand and use single words from every part of speech, along with basic concepts, in a way that young children enjoy. Its expressive and receptive subtests combine into a General Vocabulary Index, and the results help identify oral language disorders, compare understanding with use, and track progress in language therapy. It was normed on 1,190 children from 29 US states, is given individually in 15 to 20 minutes, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, 25 record booklets, a picture plate with two scenes, a garage and an object kit in a storage box.
