Test of Pragmatic Language–Second Edition (TOPL-2)
The Test of Pragmatic Language, Second Edition (TOPL-2), by Diana Phelps-Terasaki and Trisha Phelps-Gunn, assesses how students aged 6 to 18 use language in social situations, including social skills and the resolution of conflict. It identifies pragmatic language difficulties, points out what the student does well and less well, and records progress, focusing on whether the student can judge how well a response works and solve the social problem at hand, which makes it useful to school psychologists, counsellors and special educators. It takes 45 to 60 minutes individually, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, a picture book and 25 record booklets each for ages 6 to 7 and 8 to 18, in a storage box.
