Test of Early Written Language–Third Edition (TEWL-3)
The Test of Early Written Language, Third Edition (TEWL-3), by Wayne P. Hresko, Shelley R. Herron, Pamela K. Peak and Deanna L. Hicks, measures the early writing of children aged 4 to 11. Each of its two forms tests basic writing skills and writing in context, and the two parts combine into an overall writing score, with standard scores, percentiles and age and grade equivalents, and its items rest on research into how literacy develops. It takes 30 to 50 minutes individually, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, 10 record booklets and 10 student workbooks for each of Forms A and B, and 3 picture cards.
