Stuttering Severity Instrument – Fourth Edition
Glyndon D. Riley's Stuttering Severity Instrument, Fourth Edition (SSI-4), measures how severe stuttering is in children from 2 years 10 months and in adults, for clinical work and research. It rates four aspects of speech: how often stuttering occurs, as a percentage of syllables, how long the stutters last, accompanying physical behaviours, and how natural the speech sounds. It takes 15 to 20 minutes individually, and the kit contains the examiner's manual with picture plates, 50 test record and frequency computation forms, and the CSSS 2.0 program.
