Structured Inventory of Malingered Symptomatology™
The Structured Inventory of Malingered Symptomatology (SIMS), by Glenn P. Smith, is a 75-item true-or-false screening questionnaire for malingering, covering both feigned psychiatric symptoms and feigned neuropsychological problems in adults. It saves clinician time by flagging possible malingering before fuller testing, and it is best used within a battery of tests that together provide converging evidence, never as the sole basis for a conclusion. It takes 10 to 15 minutes, and the kit contains the manual and 25 response forms.
