Social Emotional Assets and Resilience Scales (SEARS)(Long Form/Short Form Introductory Kit)
The Social Emotional Assets and Resilience Scales (SEARS) by Kenneth W. Merrell assess a young person's strengths rather than problems, and suit children and adolescents who show clinical difficulties or are at high risk of them. There are self-report forms for children aged 8 to 12 and adolescents aged 13 to 18, plus forms for parents and teachers, all measuring qualities such as self-regulation, responsibility, social competence and empathy through positively worded items. Short forms of 12 items each allow quick screening of whole classes and repeated checks on progress. It takes about 20 minutes, and this introductory kit contains the professional manual and 25 rating booklets for each version, with summary and profile forms.
