Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ)
The Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ) is a 40-item yes-or-no questionnaire that a parent can complete alone, used to screen for autism in people over 4 years of age with a mental age above 2. The Lifetime Form covers the whole developmental history and gives a total score with cut-offs, showing who should be referred for a fuller assessment such as the ADI-R or ADOS, while the Current Form focuses on the present. Its content mirrors the ADI-R, with which it agrees closely. It takes about 10 minutes, and the kit includes the manual and 20 AutoScore forms of each type.
