School Motivation and Learning Strategies Inventory (SMALSI) CHILD KIT
The Child Form of the School Motivation and Learning Strategies Inventory (SMALSI), for ages 8 to 12, is a 147-item self-report measure of the study skills, learning strategies and motivation that support success at school, for pupils in both general and special education. It scores seven strengths, including note-taking and listening, reading and writing strategies, test-taking, organisation and time management, alongside three liabilities: low academic motivation, test anxiety and problems with attention. The items are written to be easy to read, weak readers can listen to them on the audio CD, and the kit includes 25 test forms, scoring templates, 25 profile sheets, the manual and a handbook of strategies for academic success. It takes 20 to 30 minutes.
