Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale - Second Edition (RADS-2)
The Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale–Second Edition (RADS-2), by William M. Reynolds, gives a quick picture of current depressive symptoms in adolescents aged 11 to 20 through 30 self-report items. Its subscales cover four dimensions of depression: somatic complaints, negative self-evaluation, dysphoric mood, and anhedonia or negative affect. T scores and a clinical cut-off show whether symptoms are in the normal range or mildly, moderately or severely raised, and a profile form allows the subscales to be compared. It takes 5 to 10 minutes, and the kit includes the manual, 25 hand-scorable test booklets and 25 summary/profile forms.
