The Receptive, Expressive and Social Communication Assessment, Elementary (RESCA-E), by Patricia Hamaguchi and Deborah Ross-Swain, assesses functional language and social communication in children aged 5 to 12 in one battery with three cores: receptive, expressive and social communication. Its core and supplementary subtests reach skills that many batteries leave out, which helps with children whose language is weak or whose social communication is in doubt, and it can stand alone or add to other tests. It is given individually, and the kit contains the administration and technical manuals, the test plates, 20 each of the record forms, social communication inventories and picture worksheets, an administration CD and accessories.
