The Preschool and Kindergarten Behavior Scales–Second Edition (PKBS-2), by Kenneth W. Merrell, is a rating scale that looks at both the social skills and the problem behaviours of children aged 3 to 6. Its 76 items fall on two scales, with the social skills scale covering co-operation, social interaction and independence, and it can be completed by parents, teachers or other caregivers, with separate norms for home and school raters. It takes about 12 minutes, and the kit includes the manual and 50 test forms.
