Occupational Stress Inventory - Revised (OSI-R)
Samuel H. Osipow's Occupational Stress Inventory, Revised (OSI-R), briefly measures three sides of adjustment at work: the stress created by work roles, the strain a person shows, and the resources they have for coping. Work stress is measured on six scales, among them role overload, role ambiguity and the physical environment; strain on vocational, psychological, interpersonal and physical scales; and coping through social support, self-care, recreation and rational coping. It helps employee assistance, counselling and career guidance and can measure the effect of interventions, with norms by gender and occupational group for adults aged 18 to 70; it takes about 30 minutes, and the kit contains the professional manual, 25 reusable item booklets, 50 rating sheets and 50 each of the gender-specific and generic profile forms.
