Multiple Auditory Processing Assessment (MAPA-2)
The Multiple Auditory Processing Assessment, Second Edition (MAPA-2), by Ronald L. Schow, J. Anthony Seikel, Jeff E. Brockett and Mary M. Whitaker, assesses auditory processing and listening skills in children aged 7 to 14, either as a screen before further tests or as a first diagnosis. Played from a CD in a clinic or sound booth, its eight subtests cover the monaural, temporal and binaural areas recommended by ASHA and AAA, and a 12-item Scale of Auditory Behaviors lets parents or teachers describe everyday listening. It takes 30 to 40 minutes, and the kit contains the manual, 25 record forms, the administration CD and 25 copies of the scale, in a portfolio.
