MCCB Measurement and Treatment Research to Improve Cognition in Schizophrenia (MATRICS) Consensus Cognitive Battery
The MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) assesses thinking skills in people with schizophrenia or a related disorder, through a set of tests agreed on by experts. It was developed to support research into medicines that improve cognition in schizophrenia. Its 10 individually given tests cover seven domains: social cognition, working memory, attention and vigilance, processing speed, verbal and visual learning, and reasoning and problem solving. It takes 60 to 90 minutes, and the kit includes the manual, 25 administrator's forms, 25 respondent's booklets, scoring software and the materials for the individual tests.
