Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities - Third Edition (ITPA-3)
The Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities–Third Edition (ITPA-3) measures spoken and written language in children aged 5 to 12, with subtests spanning oral language, reading, writing and spelling. It follows Charles Osgood's model of communication, as later adapted by Samuel Kirk, Winifred Kirk and James McCarthy, on the view that the parts of language can be measured, can be improved by teaching, and matter for success in school subjects such as reading and writing. Testing takes 45 to 60 minutes, and the kit contains the manual, 25 record booklets, 25 student response booklets and an audiotape.
