FAST™ and FASI™Firestone Assessment of Self-Destructive Thoughts™ and Firestone Assessment of Suicide Intent
The Firestone Assessment of Self-Destructive Thoughts (FAST) and its short form, the Firestone Assessment of Suicide Intent (FASI), by Robert W. Firestone and Lisa A. Firestone, are clinical self-report measures for people aged 16 to 70. On the 84 FAST items the person says how often they hear self-critical thoughts as an inner voice, which can bring to light a self-destructive process they were only partly aware of; composite scores cover self-defeating thoughts, addictions, self-annihilating thoughts and suicide intent. The FASI uses the 27 items that best predict risk, and both give T scores and percentiles. They take about 20 minutes, and the kit contains the professional manual, 25 FAST rating forms, 25 FAST scoring summary and profile forms, and 25 FASI rating and scoring forms.
