The Early Childhood Inventory-5 (ECI-5) by Joyce Sprafkin and Kenneth D. Gadow rates the signs of DSM-5 emotional and behavioural disorders in children aged 3 to 6 who have not yet started elementary school or kindergarten. The parent checklist has 126 items covering more than two dozen disorders and the teacher checklist has 103, and each disorder also carries a question on how much its symptoms hamper the child's everyday functioning. Read aloud by a clinician, the parent checklist doubles as a structured interview. The kit contains the ECI-4 screening and norms manuals, 25 parent and 25 teacher checklists, and 50 cutoff score sheets, along with severity profile sheets.
