Dyslexia Screening Test - Junior (DST-J)
The Dyslexia Screening Test, Junior (DST-J), by Rod Nicolson and Angela Fawcett, helps identify children aged about 6½ to 11½ who are at risk of failing to learn to read. It replaces the earlier DST, adding new subtests of rhyme and vocabulary to tasks such as rapid naming, one-minute reading, two-minute spelling, one-minute writing, phonemic segmentation, nonsense passage reading, backwards digit span, verbal fluency, bead threading and balance. It is given individually in about 30 minutes, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, subtest cards and score keys, a balance tester, blindfold, beads and cord, scoring software on a memory stick and 50 score sheets in a carry case.
