DASH-3: Developmental Assessment for Individuals with Severe Disabilities—Third Edition
The DASH-3 measures specific skills against set criteria for people of any age, from 6 months into adulthood, with severe or multiple disabilities, including profound intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder and physical or sensory impairments. It also suits people with milder or single disabilities, such as visual impairment or paraplegia, and children functioning at a developmental level up to 6 years. Because each item names a specific behaviour and scoring records how much support is needed, progress on targeted skills can be tracked and intervention adjusted in good time. Its scales cover language, academics, sensory-motor, social-emotional and daily living skills, a full assessment takes 2 to 3 hours, and the kit includes the manual, record forms, planning worksheets and summary sheets.
