Continuous Visual Memory Test (CVMT)
The Continuous Visual Memory Test (CVMT), by Donald E. Trahan and Glenn J. Larrabee, measures visual learning and memory for ages 7 to 80 by asking the person to recognise complex, hard-to-name designs. Because nothing has to be drawn and the designs are difficult to put into words, the test avoids motor demands and limits help from verbal labels. It has proved sensitive in patients with right-hemisphere stroke, Alzheimer's disease or severe head injury; it takes 45 to 50 minutes, and the kit contains the manual and its supplement, the stimulus cards and 50 scoring forms.
