The Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence, Second Edition (CTONI-2), by Don Hammill, Nils Pearson and J. Lee Wiederholt, measures general intelligence without relying on language or motor ability, which suits people whose results on ordinary tests may be held down by difficulties in those areas. It covers ages 6 to 90 and tests reasoning by analogy, by category and by sequence, each once with pictures of familiar things and once with geometric designs, giving six subtests in all. It is given individually in about 60 minutes, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, the analogies, categories and sequences picture books, and 25 examiner record forms.
