Cognitive Assessment of Young Children (CAYC)
The Cognitive Assessment of Young Children (CAYC) by M. Beth Langley, Rebecca Fewell and Taddy Maddox screens and assesses children from 2 months to 5 years 11 months for developmental delay, so that help can start early. Built on the same model as the Developmental Activities Screening Inventory (DASI and DASI-II), it also maps a child's strengths and weaknesses and tracks progress, showing whether an intervention should continue, change or stop. It was normed on 743 children from 16 states, is given individually in 15 to 30 minutes, and the kit contains the examiner's manual, a card kit, a record booklet and an object kit.
