Clinical Assessment of Depression
The Clinical Assessment of Depression (CAD), by Bruce A. Bracken and Karen Howell, measures depressive symptoms through 50 self-report items, for people aged 8 to 79. Its content follows the core signs of a major depressive episode in DSM-IV-TR, low mood and loss of pleasure, together with the other seven criteria. The items suit children, adolescents and adults alike while still picking up features particular to each age, such as irritability in the young. It takes about 30 minutes, and the kit includes the manual, 25 rating forms and 25 score summary/profile forms.
