Children's Academic Intrinsic Motivation Inventory(CAIMI)
The Children's Academic Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (CAIMI), by Adele E. Gottfried, measures how much children aged 9 to 14 enjoy learning for its own sake, and keeps motivation separate from achievement and ability. That distinction makes it a useful part of any assessment of academic failure or delay, but it serves ordinary pupils too. Results can guide counselling on academic interests and course choices, teaching that builds motivation in weaker subjects and sustains it in stronger ones, individual programme planning and school evaluation. It takes 20 to 30 minutes, and the kit includes the manual, 50 test booklets and 50 profile forms.
