Childhood Autism Rating Scale - Second Edition (CARS 2)
The Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition (CARS2) helps identify autism in children over 2 years and is quick to complete, taking 5 to 10 minutes. The Standard Version is meant for people who have difficulty communicating or whose estimated IQ is below average, while the High-Functioning Version is for fluent speakers aged 6 and over whose IQ is above 80 and whose difficulties may be more subtle. A questionnaire for parents or caregivers adds their view, and the results support feedback to families and the planning of intervention. The kit holds 10 booklets of each version, 10 parent questionnaires and the manual.
