The Cognitive Assessment System, Second Edition (CAS2), by Jack A. Naglieri, J. P. Das and Sam Goldstein, measures cognitive ability through the PASS theory of planning, attention, simultaneous and successive processing. Given individually to children and young people aged 5 to 18 in 40 to 60 minutes, it shows strengths and weaknesses in these processes that help with differential diagnosis and with planning teaching. The kit contains the administration and scoring manual, the interpretive and technical manual, stimulus books 1 to 3, 10 examiner record forms, 5 student response books for each age band, 10 figure memory response books, scoring templates and a red pencil.
