Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluation Scale (ASDES)
The Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluation Scale (ASDES), by Tamara J. Arthaud, records the characteristics of autism spectrum disorder as defined in DSM-5, in children and young people aged 3 to 18. Teachers complete the School Version and parents the Home Version, and together they give a wider view of how the child is doing socially, emotionally, academically and in communication in both settings, across subscales such as social-emotional reciprocity, relationships, repetitive behaviour, routines, interests and sensory responses. Scores are compared with national norms for screening, and the Autistic Disorder Intervention Manual links the results to IEP goals and interventions. Ratings take 20 to 25 minutes, and the kit includes both technical manuals, 25 rating forms for each version and the intervention manual.
