Adolescent Anger Rating Scale™ (AARS™)
The Adolescent Anger Rating Scale (AARS) by DeAnna McKinnie Burney measures how strongly and how often young people aged 11 to 19 express anger. On 41 items they mark what they do when angry and how often they do it, on a scale of four steps, and the scores cover total anger and three patterns: anger control, reactive anger and instrumental anger. High scores can flag adolescents at risk of conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder or ADHD, and the pattern of scores helps in choosing the right anger programme. It takes 5 to 10 minutes individually or 10 to 20 in a group, and the kit contains the professional manual and 50 test booklets.
