ADHD School Observation Code (ADHD-SOC)
The ADHD School Observation Code (ADHD-SOC) is a system for directly observing children aged 5 to 12 for signs of ADHD, of oppositional defiance and of conduct problems. Observations are made across settings with different degrees of structure: the classroom, the lunchroom and the playground. Such direct observation helps with differential diagnosis, planning special education and treatment, and checking how a child responds to intervention. An observation takes 10 to 15 minutes, and the kit includes the manual, tablets of 25 classroom and 25 lunchroom/playground code sheets, and training code sheets.
