A Psychological Trauma Intervention Manual for Children after Sexual Abuse (REECASST)

REECASST, by Dr. Vandana Choudhary, Dr. Sujata Satapathy and Dr. Rajesh Sagar, is a structured, culturally suited intervention manual based on cognitive behaviour therapy, for professionals working with children aged 7 to 13 after sexual abuse. Its name comes from its components: rapport building and psychoeducation, managing emotions, behaviour, trauma-related thinking, academic and social difficulties, self-growth, and ending therapy. The programme has 8 modules and 18 sub-modules in three phases, delivered in 6 to 12 weekly sessions of about 90 to 120 minutes, with 35 workbook activities, and aims to restore the child's functioning, help the child process the trauma and begin to grow beyond it. It comes in Hindi and English editions, and the kit contains a manual and 20 workbooks.
